Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Construction Design/Build Project Manager (DBM) Intern/Co-op in Charleston. You will gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of design/build projects, from concept through final delivery, working with experienced professionals who mentor your growth.

You’ll participate in estimating and takeoffs, scheduling, design meetings, reporting, and field site observations, with accountability to learn permitting and submittal processes while building client

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering program.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred; prior co-op/intern experience in construction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project from concept to delivery.
• Attend design meetings with owner and design team, including structural engineers and architects.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and track meeting action items.
• Shadow site calls and observe how Design/Build Managers lead projects.
• Assist with estimating, takeoffs, scheduling, and buyout activities.
• Support permitting, submittals, change orders, and securing subcontractor proposals.
