Shirley Contracting Company in the DC metro area is seeking a Design-Build Project Manager to lead civil construction projects across the Virginia area, including Lorton, Woodbridge, and Chantilly.

You will oversee design-build delivery, manage schedules, coordinate with owners, design teams, and subcontractors, ensure safety, and drive value engineering, with a base salary range of $80,000–$145,000 and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably on civil, highway, or infrastructure projects.
• In-depth understanding of the design-build method of delivery including design, right-of-way, utility coordination, public involvement and construction.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in scheduling software – P6.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; PE license preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the design-build project team through all phases of pursuit and delivery.
• Collaborate with owner, design team, and construction staff on staged design deliverables and VE concepts.
• Manage the design comment response process and address stakeholder concerns.
• Create preliminary and baseline schedules in appropriate scheduling software.
• Oversee buyout process and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
• Ensure health and safety culture and compliance, and maintain positive client relationships.
