Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC in the DC/MD/VA area seeks a Design-Build Project Manager to lead complex transportation projects from pursuit through delivery, coordinating with owners, designers and construction teams.

You will establish staged design deliverables, manage the proposal and baseline schedules, oversee buyouts and contracts, and uphold Shirley's safety culture while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction management experience on civil, highway or infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of design-build delivery including right-of-way, utilities, public involvement and construction.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in scheduling software P6 and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design-build project team through pursuit and delivery phases.
• Collaborate with owner, design team and construction staff to develop staged design deliverables.
• Manage design comment responses and stakeholder concerns.
• Create preliminary and baseline schedules using appropriate software.
• Coordinate utility relocations, right-of-way acquisitions, and public outreach.
• Conduct progress meetings with owners, designers and the project team.
• Oversee buyout and contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
• Maintain Shirley's health and safety culture and requirements.
• Build and maintain positive client and stakeholder relationships.

We hire ambitious and dedicated professionals to fill positions at all levels of our organization.Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Design-Build Project Manager to work on various transportation projects in the DC/MD/VA area.Responsibilities:Manage and lead the design-build project team through all phases of project pursuit and delivery including technical writing, work planning, pre-award, post-award, and post-design services.Collaborate with owner, design team, and construction staff to develop staged design deliverables incorporating value engineering concepts and constructability reviews.Manage the design comment response process and address project stakeholder concerns.Create preliminary and baseline schedules in appropriate scheduling software.Work with in-house staff and consultants to manage and schedule utility relocations, right-of-way acquisitions, and public outreach efforts.Conduct progress meetings with owners, designers, and the project delivery team.Oversee the buyout process and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients, designers, subcontractors, and co-workers.Qualifications:5+ Years of construction management experience, preferably on civil, highway, or infrastructure projects.In-depth understanding of the design-build method of project delivery including the disciplines of design, right-of-way, utility coordination, public involvement and construction.Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills.Proficient in scheduling software – P6Proficient in computer and corresponding programs – Word, Excel, PowerPointA team player with leadership abilitiesHigh School diploma or equivalentBachelor’s degree (preferred)PE License (preferred)Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.Benefits: Competitive salary, Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K with Company Match and Company Contribution, and PTO.Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.For this role the base salary range is $80,000-145,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
