Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support project managers on multiple Northern Virginia area projects. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, coordinating resources and ensuring budgets and timelines are met.

You will assist with contract negotiations, document control, and safety compliance while collaborating with vendors, subcontractors and customers to deliver quality results.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction management experience.
• Understanding of construction procedures and materials.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, scheduling, supervising and coordinating projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Assist with negotiation and management of contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
• Support resource planning from start to finish with focus on schedule and budget.
• Organize, file and maintain project documents; ensure health and safety compliance.
• Foster positive relationships with customers and coworkers.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
