Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent (New Grad 2027) in the Richmond area to support field leadership and project delivery across the lifecycle.

You will work with experienced professionals to learn preconstruction planning, scheduling, and coordination while maintaining safety and quality on site. The role targets new graduates eager to grow in design/build and tilt‑up projects with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming degree in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering.
• Strong interest in design/build, tilt‑up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – review project details and assist with planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling – develop schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
• Field Leadership – oversee daily construction activities, ensure safety and on‑time progress.
• Subcontractor Coordination – manage subcontractor activities and schedule updates.
