Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking an experienced IT Tech Lead for the DERMS platform. The role oversees operations and support, transitioning to developing new use cases as DERMS knowledge grows.

The position is hybrid, with about three days in Oakland, CA, and remote work acceptable based on business needs. The ideal candidate has strong architecture experience, excellent communication, and a track record in leading complex electric utility applications within a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 5 years of IT experience with enterprise software platforms
• 2 years working in Electric utility applications (distribution systems preferred)
• Experience with DERMS, SCADA, OMS, DMS-ADMS and related tools
• Strong architecture experience and ability to define/evaluate system and network diagrams
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and operations management
• Excellent communication and collaboration across management levels
• Experience with API integrations (REST, MuleSoft, Apigee) and cloud fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new DERMS use cases and functionalities
• Design architectural solutions aligned with product vision
• Translate user stories to technical tasks
• Evaluate RFPs and define contracts
• Lead development and implementation with vendors and developers
• Mentor staff to ensure reliable system operation
• Mature DERMS support models and processes
• Ensure system health and KPIs/SLAs are met
• Design and deploy system enhancements for interoperability
• Coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors
• Assess and improve existing system effectiveness
