Qualifications

• Handles patient vitals, injections and immunizations, and documentation.
• Prepares exam rooms and ensures sterile technique are maintained.
• Assists with minor procedures and specimen handling for lab analysis.
• Communicates with patients and families to gather information and provide care instructions.
• Operates within dermatology practice settings and EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and stock necessary supplies between patients.
• Escort patients, take vitals, interview and document visits, and prepare for physician exams.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures and wound care.
• Prepare specimens for external labs and track results.
• Schedule tests and referrals, and coordinate care with labs and pharmacies.
• Communicate test results to patients and update charts with physician recommendations.
• Pre-certify medications and referrals with insurers, and manage referrals.
• Inventory medications, monitor expiration dates, and order supplies as needed.
• Keep exam rooms and labs clean and maintain safety/confidentiality.
• Collaborate with physicians and office staff to improve practice operations.
