Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group in Wooster, OH, is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide general clinical and procedural patient care under supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers. They are an integral part of the healthcare team assisting in patient care management.

The role involves patient intake, data entry in the EHR, assisting in exams, phlebotomy, wound care, and coordinating procedures while upholding HIPAA standards and delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history and purpose of visit.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
• Assisting physician during medical examinations and procedures.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Collect, log and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize medical instruments and maintain supplies.
• Complete phone triage and notify patients of lab results.
• Administer IM, SQ, and topical medications as ordered.
• Maintain a safe clinic environment and follow HIPAA guidelines.
