Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in medical office.
• Ability to learn center tasks and assist management and physicians.
• Self-motivated to maintain patient care standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information and record medical history.
• Enter medical history and visit data into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for exams.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Change wound dressings and perform in-office phlebotomy.
• Collect, log and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize medical instruments and manage supplies.
• Complete phone triage and communicate lab results to patients.
• Scribe office visits and document nurse visits.
