Job summary

Optima Dermatology seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to join our expanding dermatology and medical aesthetics group in Salem, NH. The role includes room preparation, patient vitals, and assisting with procedures, with a focus on accurate charting and confidential patient care.

The ideal candidate will have MA certification or nursing background, one year of dermatology experience preferred, and familiarity with EMA EMR.

Qualifications

• Take vitals, injections, charting and documentation, exam room prep and routine lab procedures.
• Oral communication to develop patient rapport and discuss orders.
• Written communication for charting and documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to work with peers in a team setting.
• Provide age-appropriate care for patients of all ages.
• Dermatology medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies between patients.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vitals and reasons for visit.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as minor surgeries.
• Prepare specimens and coordinate with outside labs.
• Schedule tests and track results; manage referrals.
• Communicate lab, x-ray, and test results to physicians and patients.
• Handle pre-certifications and referrals with insurance.
• Inventory and order back-office supplies; maintain cleanliness.
