Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. You will escort patients, document histories, assist with biopsy preparation, and help with cosmetic procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, medical assistant training, 2–3 years experience in a medical office; CMA preferred but not required. Dermatology experience is a plus; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and paid time

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant training required; CMA preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in a medical office, dermatology experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from the exam room and prepare them for evaluation.
• Enter patient histories and current medications into the electronic chart.
• Scribe notes for physicians in the patient’s record and assist during visits.
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, sutures and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect specimens; notify patients of results and schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; assist back office as needed.
