Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners in Santa Maria, CA is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. You will escort patients, document histories, assist with biopsies and cosmetic procedures, and help maintain orderly exam rooms.

Candidates typically have 2–3 years in a medical office and a High School diploma; CMA certification is preferred but not required. EMR experience and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• 2-3 years of experience in a medical office as a medical assistant.
• Dermatology/cosmetic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam room and prep for examination.
• Enter complete medical histories and current medications into the chart.
• Assist Physician/Provider in the room by scribing notes in the medical record.
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-ups.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, stocking rooms.
• Laboratory maintenance including cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other duties as assigned to the back office.
