Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Athens, AL is looking for a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist during patient visits, room patients, document vitals, and assist with post-op wound care in a fast-paced clinic.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year medical office experience, CMA/LPN/RN credentials (Forefront Derm Tech certification a plus), strong computer and EMR skills, and willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, phototherapy, injections, patch testing, blue light
