Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island in West Islip, NY, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (Dermatology) to join our team. You will provide dedicated veterinary care, assist with dermatology procedures, and maintain patient records in a fast-paced, specialty environment.

Qualifications

• NYS license required or eligibility.
• Anesthesia experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to restrain animals of all sizes.
• Knowledge of instruments and supplies.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by determining animal requirements, examinations and diagnostics.
• Assist during surgery and operations and provide nursing care.
• Maintain medical records and supply inventory.
• Assist with feeding and caring for patients and triage/discharge.
• Administer intravenous drugs and anesthetic agents.
• Monitor patients and identify medical emergencies.
• Maintain aseptic technique and operate equipment.
