PetVet Care Centers’ Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island in West Islip, NY is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (Dermatology) to join our team. The role supports hospital operations and delivers high‑quality care, with duties including examinations, nursing care, triage, and maintaining patient records.

We offer a 24/7 emergency/specialty environment with opportunities for dermatology specialization, ongoing education, and a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• NYS license required or eligible for licensing.
• Anesthesia experience required.
• General knowledge of instruments and supplies.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in proper animal restraint and handling.
• Draw blood and place catheters as needed.
• Perform laboratory procedures and read fecal/urinalysis tests.
• Assist with radiographic techniques and anesthesia management.
• Assist in surgery and provide nursing care.
• Maintain clean kennels, prep rooms and surgical areas.
• Document patient medical records and client communications.
