Frontier Dermatology invites skilled professionals to join our Histology Lab as Histology Technician III. The role offers a varied schedule (Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm) and supports patients across Oregon and Washington.

Qualifications

• Histotechnician training available! HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
• Our histotechnicians/histotechnologists must have the ability to work efficiently with other team members to meet daily processing deadlines, be highly organized, and extremely detail oriented. See our mission below!
• Our lab must adhere to OSHA/CLIA requirements

Responsibilities

• Gross examination and dissection of skin specimen for tissue processing
• Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
• Process and embed samples
• Section paraffin-embedded samples
• Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
• Accurately label tissue samples and slides
• Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
