Frontier Dermatology in Salem, OR, is hiring a Histology Technician III to join our pathology lab team. You will accession specimens, perform grossing support, and prepare skin tissue slides for microscopic examination in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Histotechnician training available; HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
• Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible
• Required: Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science

Responsibilities

• Accession specimens for grossing
• Gross examination and dissection of skin specimen for tissue processing
• Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
• Process and embed samples
• Section paraffin-embedded samples
• Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
• Accurately label tissue samples and slides
• Other duties as assigned, including routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
• Work in a fast-paced lab while adhering to OSHA/CLIA requirements

• Location: Salem Pathology Lab


• Typical Schedule: Varied Mondays - Fridays, 8:00am - 5:00pm
