Job summary

The Oregon Clinic is seeking a full-time Histology Technician for our Dermatology clinic in Northwest Portland. Work with a collaborative team to prepare specimens through accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and slide preparation in a fast-paced dermatology setting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in histology, with Mohs experience and HT/HTL certification. CLIA 88 training is required, and strong attention to detail is essential for quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates or B.S. in biological or laboratory science.
• Minimum five years in histology lab; Mohs histology a plus.
• ASCP HT/HTL certification or equivalent.
• CLIA 88 training aligned with role."
• Proficient in embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prep pathology specimens across accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and slide prep.
• Perform quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure cost containment, privacy, and safety in specimen handling.
• Maintain logs and records; manage workflow to maximize productivity.
• Assist with pathology billing coordination with business office.
• Other duties as assigned.
