Job summary

North Idaho Dermatology is seeking a Dermatology Technician (Desk) in Coeur d'Alene to support the nursing team with a focus on patient education and triage tasks.

The role offers on-site work with typical hours 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and includes benefits like medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401(k) matching up to 4% and product/service discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EMR experience preferred, but not required.
• No experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with instructions and educational materials related to skin type or condition.
• Provides aftercare instructions for Blu-light, patch testing, laser treatments, Botox, biopsies, Mohs surgeries and more.
• Seeks provider supervision on treatment protocols and notifies provider of noncompliance.
• Scribes in the EMR during patient phone calls with accurate medical terminology and documentation.
• Faxes outgoing referrals and medication requests; handles denied requests and records requests.
• Notifies patients of pathology and laboratory results as instructed by the provider.
• Cross-trains in other departments as needed and travels to other North Idaho Dermatology offices as required.
• Performs general office duties, including answering phones, dictation, and insurance forms including prior authorizations.
