Job summary

The VA Amarillo Health Care System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Dermatologist to diagnose and treat skin disorders, with a focus on patient-centered, evidence-based care for Veterans. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

The dermatologist will provide comprehensive skin care, perform procedures, and participate in resident education within a supportive VA environment that emphasizes quality, safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• US citizenship as required for VA
• MD or DO from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US
• Residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility
• VA accreditation considerations for faculty status if applicable
• English proficiency
• Preferred: Board Certified in Dermatology and experience at Amarillo VAMC
• Experience implementing policies/protocols in Medicine
• Experience improving dermatology patient flow

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate dermatology care to Veteran patients
• Perform dermatology procedures and minor skin surgeries
• Evaluate tumors and skin conditions considering patient health and procedure risks
• Prescribe treatments and manage dermatology care plans
• Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate with the primary team
• Respond promptly to inpatient/outpatient consultations and referrals
• Ensure adherence to VA policies, safety, and quality standards
• Support education and supervision of dermatology residents
