Job summary

The Amarillo VA Health Care System in Amarillo, Texas seeks an experienced Cardiologist to lead patient care, perform diagnostics, and manage treatment plans for cardiac diseases. This position includes a Recruitment/Relocation Incentive and Education Debt Reduction Program eligibility, with a Monday–Friday schedule and opportunities for teaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

• MD degree from LCME-accredited medical school.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the US or eligible for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients through thorough examinations and data review to determine care.
• Performs and interprets EKGs, echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, and treadmill testing as required.
• Prescribes appropriate treatment plans and manages emergencies; maintains updated clinical records.
• Maintains BLS/ACLS certifications and sedation/supervision requirements as applicable.
• Mentors and educates residents, trainees, or staff as part of clinical education activities.
