Eversource Energy in Hadley, MA invites applications for a DER Planning Engineer (Hybrid Schedule). You'll lead DER studies, model distribution power systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate generation and storage assets.

Qualified candidates have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of power systems experience; EIT or PE is a plus. The role requires travel between MA/CT/NH and emergency response readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional power systems experience; electric utility background preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop distribution system power flow models using Synergi and PSCAD to study interconnection of generation and storage.
• Assess DER integration solutions and their impact on distribution and ISO-NE systems.
• Prepare documentation for the ISO-NE interconnection process.
• Manage reviews and impact analyses of distribution interconnection requests within the Area Work Center (AWC).
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine planning needs and proposed plans.
• Verify feasibility of proposed plans using industry-standard techniques.
• Develop design solutions and mitigation strategies for identified issues.
• Support DER interconnections through technical assessments and engineering alternatives.
