Job summary

Eversource in Massachusetts is seeking a DER Planning Engineer to provide distribution-focused power system expertise, conduct DER studies, and evaluate generation/storage interconnections for reliability and performance.

You will develop distribution power-flow models using Synergi and PSCAD, collaborate with multiple teams across MA/CT/NH, prepare ISO-NE documentation, and participate in emergency restoration and project scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years of professional power systems experience; utility background preferred.
• EIT certification or PE license is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DG, energy storage, reliability, and power flow.

Responsibilities

• Develop distribution system power flow models using Synergi and PSCAD.
• Assess DER interconnection impacts on distribution and ISO-NE systems.
• Prepare ISO-NE interconnection documentation as needed.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across engineering and operations.
• Support emergency restoration and project scheduling.
