Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking an Engineer to lead DER interconnection projects, ensuring compliance with Illinois Admin Code and Ameren policy. You will conduct expedited studies, prepare pre-application reports, and generate reports from the PowerClerk DER repository.

The role requires a BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering with PE license (or ability to obtain in Illinois) and experience in engineering and DER systems. Collaboration with regulatory teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one in Illinois preferred.
• Engineering experience preferred.
• Other Ameren Illinois office locations would also be considered based on location.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply Illinois Admin Code Parts 466 and 467 and DER interconnection policy.
• Perform DER interconnection expedited review studies and pre-application reports as needed.
• Create reports from the PowerClerk DER application repository.
• Provide technical assistance with DER witness testing for larger interconnection projects.
• Input and analyze workflow improvements within PowerClerk platform.
• Maintain familiarity with DER standards (IEEE 1547, 2800, UL 1741, NFPA 70).
• Collaborate with Regulatory and Government Relations to stay updated on new rules.
