Job summary

Ameren Illinois seeks an Engineer to manage customer DER interconnection projects, interpreting the Illinois Administrative Code and Ameren DER policy to meet administrative and technical requirements.

Responsibilities include expedited reviews, PowerClerk reporting, and technical support for witness testing, with ongoing alignment to IEEE 1545, IEEE 2800, UL 1741, NFPA 70 and related standards. Collaboration with regulatory teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
• P.E. license preferred; engineering experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Understand, interpret, and apply Illinois Administrative Code Parts 466 and 467 and Ameren Illinois DER Interconnection Policy to customer DER projects.
• Perform DER interconnection expedited review studies and pre-application reports; coordinate with consultants.
• Create reports from the PowerClerk DER application repository.
• Provide technical assistance with DER witness testing for larger projects; transfer policies to field resources.
• Provide input on workflow improvements within the PowerClerk platform.
• Maintain familiarity with DER industry standards (IEEE 1545, IEEE 2800, UL 1741, NFPA 70).
• Update on evolving DER system designs including new inverter features and energy storage.
• Collaborate with Regulatory and Government Relations to stay abreast of new rules.
