Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking an Engineer to manage customer DER interconnection projects, ensuring compliance with Illinois Administrative Code and Ameren DER policies. The role involves expedited studies, pre-application reports, and coordination with consulting resources.

The position requires a BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (PE preferred) and experience in DER-related engineering. The role may be based in multiple Ameren Illinois offices and includes a broad benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one in Illinois preferred.
• Engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand, interpret, and apply Illinois Administrative Code Parts 466 and 467 and the Ameren Illinois DER Interconnection Policy to customer projects.
• Perform DER interconnection expedited review studies and pre-application reports; coordinate with consulting resources.
• Create reports from the PowerClerk DER application repository.
• Provide technical assistance with DER witness testing for larger projects and transfer knowledge to field teams.
• Provide input on workflow improvements within the PowerClerk platform.
• Maintain familiarity with standards like IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, UL 1741, NFPA 70; advise customers on applications.
