Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one in Illinois preferred.
• Engineering experience preferred.
• Other Ameren Illinois office locations would also be considered based on the successful candidate's location.

Responsibilities

• Understand, interpret, and apply Illinois Administrative Code Parts 466 and 467 and Ameren Illinois DER Customer Interconnection Policy to DER interconnection projects.
• Perform DER interconnection expedited review studies and pre-application reports; coordinate with consulting resources.
• Create reports from the PowerClerk DER application repository.
• Provide technical assistance with DER witness testing for larger, more complex interconnection projects and transfer knowledge on testing policies and procedures.
• Provide input and analysis related to workflow improvements within the PowerClerk platform.
• Maintain familiarity with DER industry standards (IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, UL 1741, NFPA 70) and guide internal/external customers on applications.
• Maintain technical/operational understanding of evolving DER designs, including inverter features and energy storage.
• Collaborate with Ameren Illinois Regulatory and Government Relations to stay abreast of new rules affecting DER interconnection projects.
