City of Austin Energy is seeking an Engineer for the DER Integration team to advance microgrids, solar and storage within the distribution system. The role involves tackling complex design challenges with independence and teamwork to drive innovative DER projects.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years of related experience, with proficiency in power systems, protection, and SCADA/EMS. Hybrid work is available in Austin.

Qualificações

• Experience with distributed energy resources (DER).
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts (generation, transmission, distribution, storage).
• Experience performing DER impact studies and hosting capacity analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Design and assist in design of electric utility facilities including generation, substations, transmission and distribution lines, SCADA/EMS.
• Conduct power system studies (protective relays, fault studies, load flows, reliability, power quality).
• Prepare engineering drawings, circuit maps, control diagrams and data bases.
