Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to lead DER impact studies and support planning for a reliable distribution grid in the US. You will analyze hosting capacity, voltage, and protection coordination, and collaborate with interconnection teams.

You will perform steady-state and dynamic simulations using WindMil, CYME, and Synergi, build models, and prepare technical reports for internal and regulatory audiences. Remote options offered within the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6 years of electric utility distribution planning experience focusing on DER integration.
• Strong understanding of distribution system operations, protection, and planning.
• Proficiency with WindMil, CYME, or Synergi for modelling.
• PE license preferred; knowledge of IEEE 1547, FERC, NERC beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support DER impact studies to assess hosting capacity and power quality.
• Perform steady-state and dynamic simulations; develop distribution models.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and regulators.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve planning processes.
