Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to lead DER impact studies and provide expert support within our electric utility planning team. The role emphasizes safe and reliable integration of distributed energy resources, including solar, storage, and EVs, across US offices or fully remote locations.

You will conduct hosting capacity analyses, perform steady-state and dynamic simulations, and prepare reports for internal and regulatory use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6 years of experience in electric utility distribution planning with focus on DER integration.
• Strong understanding of distribution system operations, protection, and planning principles.
• Proficiency in WindMil, CYME, and Synergi for analysis.
• Familiarity with IEEE 1547, FERC, and NERC interconnection standards.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with hosting capacity analysis and locational value assessments preferred.
• Knowledge of DERMS, AMI, and ADMS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Modeling and simulation of distribution systems using industry tools.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders and filings.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.
