Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join the Distributed Energy Renewables (DER) National division in Minneapolis, MN. You will support project coordination, procurement, and field activities while ensuring safety and quality across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts and proposals.
• Knowledge of construction concepts and processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint.
• Customer service or office administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support RFP and procurement processes.
• Track current and future jobs and staffing needs.
• Review contracts, drawings and specifications; answer questions.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with vendors and purchasing.
• Help develop Scope of Work for subcontractors.
• Coordinate job set-up, site mobilization, administration and closeout.
• Support scheduling and coordination of trades.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and project documentation.
• Communicate with Architect/Engineer/Owner for PM support.
• Coordinate field activities of self-performed and subcontracted work.
