Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Construction Project Engineer for the Distributed Energy Renewables division in Minneapolis, MN. You will support RFPs, track projects, review contracts, coordinate procurement, and assist in preparing job start and closeout materials.

The role requires a BA/BS in Construction Management or related field, knowledge of construction concepts, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project; SharePoint is a plus.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of construction concepts required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Project; SharePoint preferred.
• Customer service and/or office administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement processes.
• Track current and future jobs while projecting future staffing requirements.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications and other resources to answer questions.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with purchasing department and outside vendors to order and expedite material.
• Assist in development of Scope of Work for subcontractors.
• Coordinate job set-up, site mobilization, project administration and closeout.
• Support the scheduling and coordination of trades.
• Coordinate the McKinstry scope of work with the project drawings and specifications.
• Assist in preparation of Job Start and Project Closeout documentation and meeting materials.
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting.
• Communicate with Architect, Engineer and Owner, to assist the Project Manager with daily duties.
• Coordinate field activities of self-performed and subcontracted work as necessary.
