Job summary

McKinstry in Denver invites a Construction Project Engineer to join the Distributed Energy Renewables (DER) National division. You will support project coordination, review contracts, manage documentation, and liaise with architects, engineers and owners.

This role emphasizes problem solving, collaboration, and safety. A BA/BS in Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience is required; proficiency with MS Office and project tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree—or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of construction concepts required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Customer service and/or office administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement processes.
• Track current and future jobs and project staffing requirements.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and other resources to answer questions.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with purchasing department and outside vendors; expediting material.
• Assist in development of Scope of Work for subcontractors.
• Coordinate job set-up, site mobilization, project administration and closeout.
• Support scheduling and coordination of trades.
• Coordinate the McKinstry scope of work with drawings and specifications.
• Assist in preparation of Job Start and Project Closeout materials.
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting.
• Communicate with Architect, Engineer and Owner to assist the Project Manager.
• Coordinate field activities of self-performed and subcontracted work.
