Job summary

The Valley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office seeks an attorney to serve as Deputy Criminal Prosecutor in the criminal division. The Deputy Prosecutor will handle misdemeanor and infraction cases, review police reports, determine charging decisions, and guide cases through all court stages.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Idaho.
• Prior trial or criminal law experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of criminal statutes, procedure, and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Review police reports to determine charging decisions and file criminal complaints.
• Manage misdemeanor, juvenile, and infraction proceedings.
• Handle all phases of prosecution from initial appearances to trials.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and agencies; provide training and guidance.
• Represent the office in appeals and post-conviction matters.
• Collaborate with Chief Deputy Prosecutor and civil division on related matters.
