Job summary

Canyon County’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Office seeks a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the Criminal Division. You will prosecute criminal cases, review police reports for charging decisions, and prepare filings while upholding the rights of victims and the public.

The role requires a Idaho license to practice law and a Juris Doctorate. Compensation starts at $92,705 and can go up to $163,280 with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Idaho.

Responsibilities

• Represent the State of Idaho in criminal, quasi-criminal, and limited civil actions in multiple court levels.
• Screen incoming reports to determine charges and filers.
• Prepare complaints, witness lists, and motions; negotiate resolutions when appropriate.
• Present evidence and arguments at arraignments, hearings, and trials; supervise staff as needed.
• Stay current with court decisions and legislation affecting criminal practice.
