Reporting to the Program Manager, the DPM will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget, manage personnel and subcontractor activities, and support planning, budgeting, reporting, and risk management efforts. A solid understanding of both technical and business aspects of program delivery is essential.

Responsibilities
  1. Support program oversight and execution:
    • Assist the Program Manager in daily operations, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
    • Coordinate efforts across operations, development, testing, and cybersecurity teams.
    • Manage customer communication, acting as a key point of contact to communicate status, risks, and issues clearly and professionally.
    • Translate technical requirements into understandable terms for stakeholders and technical teams.
  2. Financial Management:
    • Collaborate with finance to track budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
    • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making and accountability.
  3. Requirements Analysis and Work Breakdown:
    • Decompose complex requirements into actionable tasks and assign to teams.
    • Develop estimates and timelines with technical leads.
  4. Process Development and Documentation:
    • Design, standardize, and document program management processes.
    • Ensure workflows meet compliance and quality standards.
  5. Risk and Issue Management:
    • Monitor risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and track resolutions.
    • Maintain risk registers and issue logs.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Generate performance reports, metrics, and briefings for leadership and clients.
    • Align activities with performance objectives and contractual obligations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration; Master’s preferred.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with program budgeting, financial reporting, and federal contracting environments.
  • Strong communication skills, experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira), and risk management.
  • Preferred: 5+ years in a program or deputy program manager role, experience with government or defense contracting, Agile methodologies, cybersecurity frameworks, and managing subcontractors.
