Job summary

Everett Public Schools is seeking a Marching Band Associate Director at Everett High School to assist the marching band director in coordinating and administering the program for instrumental music students.

The role is an extracurricular contract with a stipend; you will help select music, conduct try-outs, organize band camps, supervise practices, and manage equipment and tours to ensure a high-quality marching band experience for students in Everett.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Teaching Certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience.
• Expertise in instrumental music.
• Expertise in conducting a competitive marching band.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director to choose all music to be performed during the marching band season.
• Assist with conducting try-outs for drum majors and special units.
• Assist with conducting a Band Camp during the summer.
• Assist with the design of band performances.
• Assist with supervision and direct all practices and performances of the marching band.
• Assist in planning practice activities and performances per district policy.
• Coordinate performance schedules and bus departures.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms.
• Maintain and repair marching band equipment.
• Plan and supervise overnight music festival tours.
• Provide roster of marching band members for eligibility lists.
