Job summary

RTX is seeking a Deputy Program Manager for Advanced Airborne Systems Production in Plano, TX. You will oversee IPTs across production contracts, report to the Production Program Manager, and drive cost, schedule, and performance commitments while improving cadence and throughput.

Ideal candidates have a university degree with 10+ years or an advanced degree with 7+ years, strong EVMS experience, and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • University degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including engineering, contracts, finance, and administrative functions.
  • Experience engaging and reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in program or project management handling cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Production experience and EVMS or similar program experience.
  • Program Management Level 5 Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance (current).
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Deputy Program Manager – Advanced Airborne Systems Production

This role supports the execution of the Advanced Airborne Systems (AAS) Production portfolio at RTX’s Naval Power, Advanced Sensor Program Sub‑Strategic Business Unit. The Deputy Program Manager reports directly to the Production Program Manager and oversees AAS Radar Hardware (RHW) Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across all production contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Deputy Program Manager, supporting IPTs and control accounts across all production contracts to meet cost, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Execute and enhance program cadence (battle rhythm) and develop actionable metrics to achieve throughput increases in production builds.
  • Collaborate with internal factories and suppliers to meet program goals and commitments.
  • Lead with influence to develop and organize matrixed teams effectively.
  • Deliver on financial, technical, and schedule performance, ensuring all contractual and company expectations are met.
  • Communicate effectively, leveraging strong presentation and influence management skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
  • Support programs through the full lifecycle, including proposal development and contract close‑out activities.
Qualifications – Required
  • University degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years experience.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams that include, but are not limited to, engineering, contracts, finance, and/or administrative functions.
  • Experience engaging and reporting to all levels of executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in program or project management managing cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Production experience.
  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or similar program/application experience.
  • Program Management Level 5 Certification (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Top Secret, Current).
  • U.S. citizenship.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in program execution, including managing program staffing, assignments, and resources.
  • Expertise in supplier management through various procurement phases.Experience developing and reviewing cost proposals and startup packages.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional teams and departments.
  • Strong risk and opportunity management and mitigation/capture best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and team members.
  • Experience managing, tracking, and reporting through EAC review and Customer Program Management Reviews (PMR) or similar metrics.
Location & Security Requirements

Plano, TX

On‑site position at RTX’s Plano, TX facility. Relocation assistance is not available.

Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret security clearance is required on day one.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600. Additional annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation may apply.
