Job summary

RTX seeks a Production Electrical Team Lead in Tucson to guide a skilled group of engineers on a production program. You will oversee electrical task execution, ensure technical rigor, and mentor junior engineers across cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related STEM field and 5+ years in RF/analog/digital design, with FPGA knowledge preferred. Onsite work in Tucson with travel and collaboration across operations and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field and 5+ years in RF/analog/digital design or DSP.
  • Knowledge of FPGA integration and implementation preferred.
  • Production engineering experience in missile hardware design, analysis, fabrication, or troubleshooting and RCAs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical Team on a Production Program, mentoring and training engineers.
  • Provide technical support for 5–10 engineers, focusing on task execution and rigor.
  • Coordinate with Electrical Team Lead for cross-functional prioritization and scheduling.
  • Engage in design reviews, risk analysis, burn down, supplier coordination, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other engineering disciplines to resolve production issues.

What You Will Do
  • Function as a Production Electrical Team Lead on a Production Program leading the Electrical Team while supporting cross functional teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Provide technical support of 5-10 engineers, with a focus placed on engineering task execution, technical rigor, mentorship and training, etc.
  • Coordinate with Electrical Team Lead for cross-functional prioritization.
  • Direct involvement with and or support of design reviews, schedule risk, red rack burn down, supplier coordination, documentation, compliance, testing and validation, peer reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration.
  • Travel Requirements: less than 25% annually.
  • Shift Information: 1st shift, onsite.
Qualifications

You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years’ prior relevant experience RF, analog, digital, and or mixed signal circuit design or analysis and or digital signal processing, debugging, failure investigations.
  • Knowledge of FPGA integration and implementation preferred.
  • Production engineering experience involving design, analysis, fabrication, or troubleshooting of missile hardware, including systematic problem solving, failure investigations or Root Cause and Corrective Action.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills creating and presenting technical content to cross-functional peers, leaders, suppliers and customers.

We Prefer

  • MS in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Equivalent.
  • Production process knowledge of CCA, EO, RF, Seeker Sensor, or electronic subsystems; including circuit design, CCA assembly, electrical test and supplier sub-tier supplier support.
  • Effective organization, emotional intelligence, etc. Systems thinking, strong problem solving in alignment with the OCE.
  • Technical support experience of test equipment, test automation scripting, test conduction, sensor control, printed circuit board fabrication, circuit card assembly processes and related industry specifications.
  • Experience with subsystems integration and test, post test flight analysis, problem investigation, Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods in achieving production yield improvements, technical writing, formal presentation, and implementing Engineering Change Notices.
  • Experience with Software Firmware languages; Python, C, Basis, Java, VHDL, Verilog.
  • Leadership of technical teams, including technical oversight and direction, cost estimation, tracking & reporting, coordination, preparation of detailed technical team reports, and proposal support.
  • Certification for Basis of Estimate generation.
  • Certification for Earned Value Management.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
