The North Central Texas Council of Governments\' Workforce Solutions North Central Texas is seeking an Assistant Director to provide executive leadership and oversee operations for the workforce development division in Arlington. You will report to the Executive Director and guide departments, staff, performance, and strategic initiatives to align with regional workforce priorities.

• Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and supervise staff.
• Strong strategic planning, operational leadership and organizational skills.
• Experience managing employee performance, relations and organizational change.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of workforce development, education, childcare, economic development, or related public service systems.
• Ability to analyze performance data and drive decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage resources, budgets and competing priorities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and implement innovative, business-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the department’s primary operational leader and support the Executive Director in setting priorities and goals.
• Oversee operations through managers and supervisors for efficiency, quality customer service, compliance and outcomes.
• Lead personnel management across divisions including staffing, performance management and development.
• Oversee Workforce Development, Child Care Services, and Business Services programs.
• Monitor trends and policy changes to inform decisions and recommendations to the Executive Director.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and communication across teams.
• Oversee program data collection, performance reporting and measurement.
• Collaborate on funding strategies, grants and compliance requirements.
• Supervise and develop managers, establish expectations and accountability.
• Assess organizational structure, staffing and workflows and recommend improvements.
• Lead special projects and cross-functional teams as assigned.
