Job summary

City of New York’s NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks a Deputy Director of Strategy Implementation to drive energy efficiency, renewable generation, and wastewater initiatives. You will lead co-digestion, RNG programs, and a circular economy strategy while coordinating with city agencies and partners to advance funding and project deployment.

The role reports to the Director of the Energy Office and focuses on strategic planning, program design, and staff mentorship to achieve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years energy generation or conservation work with managerial experience.
• Education and experience may be credited per NY rules and energy policy.
• Administrative/managerial or executive capacity required.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and expansion of DEP’s Co-Digestion and RNG programs.
• Design circular economy initiatives aligning with energy and carbon goals.
• Develop wastewater heat recovery initiatives and funding strategies.
• Engage stakeholders across city agencies, private partners, and communities.
• Create strategic plans for charging infrastructure with DEP Fleet Services and DCAS.
• Supervise and mentor staff within the strategy implementation sub-directorate.
