Job summary

DCAS is seeking an Executive Director of Clean Energy and Innovation in New York City. The role leads strategy, budgeting, procurement, asset management, and innovation for citywide energy programs and battery storage deployment.

The position requires advanced degrees or equivalency with substantial managerial experience in energy, sustainability, or related fields, and will oversee complex projects across city agencies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field with two years in energy or sustainability data analysis or program management.
• Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant energy/environment experience, including managerial duties.
• Education/experience equivalence accepted with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategy development to achieve the City\'s clean energy goals and deployment of battery energy storage systems.
• Budgeting leadership for solar energy and demonstration projects.
• Procurement: develop strategic contracting resources and evaluate vendor proposals.
• Asset management and forward planning for City-owned solar and energy storage systems.
• Innovation piloting and adoption of energy technology demonstrations in City buildings.
• Operations oversight including feasibility assessments, cost-benefit analyses, design reviews, contracts, and construction management.
