Job summary

The City of New York’s DEP Energy Office seeks a Circular Economy Program Manager to advance energy recovery initiatives such as Biogas-to-Grid, Co-digestion, and heat recovery. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Associate degree/60 credits in related field with years of experience in energy/conservation.
• High school diploma + 8 years experience in energy/conservation or related role.

Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing energy projects by coordinating with DEP bureaus, City agencies, and contractors; overseeing design reviews and site visits; supporting senior leadership with technical input.
• Translate project concepts from ideation to execution by developing partnership models, contractual terms, and revenue-sharing arrangements; coordinate with stakeholders for timely deployment.
• Support and advise the Bureau throughout procurement, design, and policy-setting to influence energy and resource efficiency; share best practices and identify training candidates.
• Identify energy conservation opportunities and potential energy efficiency projects in wastewater conveyance, treatment, building systems, and equipment; contribute to scopes of work and cost estimates; support measurement and verification.
• Provide project management assistance, including developing and maintaining project plans, tracking milestones, and ensuring progress through monitoring.
• Track and provide energy and resource recovery data for decision making, reporting and compliance; prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and datasets.
