Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Deputy Constable Recruit to assist with civil processing, warrants, and court security. The role requires meeting education and experience prerequisites, passing exams, and maintaining a valid Texas driver’s license.

As a deputy, you will deliver and execute civil papers, arrest when warranted, transport detainees, and perform bailiff duties for the Justice of the Peace, upholding professional standards and legal compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum GED or high school diploma.
• Two years of law enforcement experience or college coursework as specified.
• TCOLE certification or ability to sit for the written exam.
• U.S. citizen with valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and executes civil papers including citations, notices, injunctions, subpoenas, summons and restraining orders.
• Delivers and executes writs involving garnishment, attachment, execution, habeas corpus, and orders of sale.
• Performs arrests and set outs, transfers prisoners to and from jail, and performs Bailiff tasks for the Justice of the Peace.
• Works varied shifts and adheres to policies and procedures; maintains safety and legality of operations.
