Job summary

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace seeks a full-time Deputy Information Technology Director to lead day-to-day IT operations and cybersecurity. This hybrid role reports to the CIO and oversees a team including Cybersecurity and Network Administrator, Cloud Systems Administrator, and Help Desk Administrator.

The position requires 15+ years of IT leadership, experience with cybersecurity programs and cloud environments, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
• Experience managing cybersecurity programs and cloud environments at scale.
• Experience in nonprofit environments is highly desired.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or Cisco/Microsoft credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day IT operations and cybersecurity as deputy to the CIO.
• Oversee cybersecurity program, security tools, incident response, and network infrastructure.
• Oversee Carnegie's cloud environments and productivity suites; help develop multi-year IT and network plans, budgets, and vendor management.
• Partner with the CIO to set security priorities, report on security posture, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Work onsite at Carnegie's Dupont Circle office in Washington, DC at least 3 days a week; hybrid arrangement.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or Cisco/Microsoft credentials
