Job summary

The City of Baltimore's Office of Information & Technology (BCIT) seeks a seasoned technology executive to serve as Deputy Chief Information Officer (Technology).

Reporting to the CIO, this leader oversees enterprise technology across Applications, Information Security, Infrastructure, Public Safety Services & Emergency Communications, and Digital Services, delivering secure, modern, and reliable platforms that support city operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership at senior executive level with multiple complex functions.
• Government or large public-sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive leadership across BCIT's divisions: Applications, Information Security, Infrastructure, Public Safety & Emergency Communications, Digital Services.
• Translate CIO strategy into architecture, engineering standards, and measurable performance targets.
• Guide enterprise governance, security, and modernization initiatives across the technology portfolio.
• Represent BCIT in governance, budget hearings, and interagency engagements as directed.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, and vendor governance for technology portfolios.
• Champion security-minded culture and resilient, reliable IT delivery for city services.
