Job summary

Block, Inc. seeks a Deputy Chief Compliance Officer to lead the trust bank's compliance program for Builders Bank & Trust.

This hands-on role supports the CCO/BSA Officer in designing and administering the compliance management system, with a focus on BSA/AML, OFAC, due diligence, and regulatory readiness. You will collaborate across Risk, Legal, COO and Finance, maintain independence from revenue activities, and prepare for OCC examinations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in compliance, BSA/AML, or regulatory compliance at a federally supervised financial institution
• Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML program requirements, CIP, CDD/EDD, SARs, and regulatory reporting
• Experience supporting compliance programs subject to OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, FinCEN, or state regulators
• Familiarity with compliance management systems, testing, issue management, regulatory change management, and Board reporting
• Experience with digital asset AML risks, blockchain analytics, wallet screening, or Travel Rule compliance
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and maintain independence from business line objectives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for senior management, auditors, and regulators

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the Compliance Management System, including policies, procedures, training, monitoring, testing, issue management, and Board reporting
• Design, maintain, and execute BSA/AML policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Support customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and ongoing risk rating processes
• Oversee day-to-day compliance operations related to transaction monitoring, alert review, SAR support, and FinCEN reporting workflows
• Support OFAC sanctions screening, Travel Rule compliance, and digital asset wallet screening
• Develop and tune blockchain analytics tools for transaction monitoring and sanctions risk detection
• Coordinate testing activities, remediation plans, root-cause analysis, and closure evidence
• Assist with OCC examination preparation, document production, and remediation of supervisory findings
