Job summary

Block is seeking a Deputy Chief Compliance Officer to lead the trust bank’s compliance program and ensure OCC-aligned controls. You will work with CCO, Risk, COO, CFO, and Legal to build a robust, independent function for a federally chartered national trust bank.

You’ll manage day-to-day BSA/AML controls, case testing, remediation, and regulatory change management while maintaining independence from revenue activities. Strong writing and communication required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in BSA/AML, regulatory compliance for a federally supervised financial institution.
• Experience supporting OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, FinCEN examinations or regulator oversight.
• Familiarity with AML risk in digital assets and wallet screening.
• Ability to develop, implement, and report on compliance programs and audits.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the trust bank’s Compliance Management System, with policies, training, monitoring, and Board reporting.
• Design and execute BSA/AML policies and internal controls per 31 CFR 1020.210.
• Lead customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and ongoing risk rating processes.
• Oversee transaction monitoring, alert review, SAR support, and FinCEN reporting workflows.
• Coordinate OFAC screening, Travel Rule compliance, and digital asset wallet screening.
• Implement blockchain analytics tools for monitoring and sanctions risk detection.
• Develop AML typologies and red flags for custody activities; ensure regulatory readiness.
