Job summary

Thread Bank seeks an experienced Deposit Operations Specialist II to own the account lifecycle and escalating issues across embedded banking programs. This hands-on role requires tracing problems to root causes and documenting processes for consistent operation.

Responsibilities include managing escalations, dormant/escheatment processes, and compliance with Reg E/CC/DD. You will also support testing, reporting, and back-office processing within a regulatory-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in deposit or banking operations, fintech ops.
• Experience with deceased accounts and estate processing.
• Dormant account monitoring and escheatment reporting across states.
• Knowledge of Reg E, Reg CC, Reg DD; presentment warranty claims.
• IRS B Notices (CP2100) processing and backup withholding; FIDM reporting.
• Experience supporting embedded banking programs or third-party platforms.
• Experience testing system changes; writing/executing test cases.
• Strong written communication; ability to write procedures and audit responses.
• Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and independent work ethic.
• Sound judgment for timely escalation of issues.

Responsibilities

• Own intake, triage, and resolution of escalations from embedded banking partners.
• Maintain a single source of record for escalation status and resolution.
• Prepare and verify bank verification letters and verifications of deposit; route regulatory requests to Compliance.
• Research items (transfers, balances, holds, statements, transactions) and correct as needed.
• Escalate BSA/AML/OFAC issues immediately to Compliance and BSA Officer.
• Process deceased customer notifications, including post-death payments and estate handling.
• Manage dormant account monitoring, escheatment reporting, and unclaimed property filings.
• Handle closed/fraudulent accounts, check issuances, and lost in transit handling.
• Process funding for dissolved businesses; route disbursements through approvals.
• Serve as central contact for hold harmless letters, GL posting, and reconciliations.
• Handle cashier’s check reissues, stop payments, and lost instrument claims.
• Pursue recovery on duplicate presentment and presentment warranty breaches.
• Process IRS B Notices (CP2100) and backup withholding tasks.
• Provide backup for DACA intake, maintenance, and IOLTA remittance.
• Support testing and training materials; maintain core platform expertise.
