Job summary

Southern First, headquartered in Greenville, SC, is seeking a Deposit Processing Manager to lead the Deposit Operations team, ensuring efficient, secure, and compliant handling of checks, adjustments, and related functions while upholding our North Star service standards.

You will oversee daily reconciliations, issue research, currency orders, ATM cash management, and year-end processing, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to maintain accuracy and prevent fraud, while coaching staff

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in financial services or operations environment.
• Ability to manage multiple processes/problems in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments with the Deposit Operations team.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvement.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the staff to perform the daily Deposit Operations function.
• Perform and verify complex account reconciliations to ensure ledger accuracy.
• Conduct in-depth research on deposit-related issues and exceptions with thorough documentation.
• Oversee and process all aspects of check handling including returns and adjustments.
• Apply and validate rate adjustments in accordance with policy and client instructions.
• Review and resolve QC-document exceptions and perform file maintenance updates.
